Patios live a hard life in Central Texas. They sit in full sun for most of the year, get hit by every summer storm, host barbecue grills, planters, pets, and patio furniture, and slowly turn from the clean stone they used to be into a grey, mossy, weed-infested mess. The good news is that under that layer of grime, the original color and texture are almost always still intact. Professional patio cleaning is the difference between an outdoor space you avoid and one you actually use.

Each surface needs a different combination of pressure, distance, and chemistry. Stamped concrete in particular needs a careful hand, because the color is bonded to the topical layer and aggressive cleaning can lift it. Pavers can usually take more pressure, but the joints need attention to avoid blowing out the sand.

Our patio process starts with a substrate assessment. We identify the material, look for any cracks or loose stones, and plan how aggressive we can be. Next comes a pre-treatment to kill algae, moss, and weeds growing in the joints. This sanitization step is crucial; without it, you will see green regrowth in the joints within weeks. With proper pre-treatment, the joints stay clean for months or years depending on shade.

Once the pre-treatment has done its work, we move in with a commercial surface cleaner sized appropriately for the patio. Surface cleaners give us even, streak-free results across open spans. For tight corners, steps, edges, and decorative inlays, we switch to hand-wanding with the right tip and pressure to match the rest of the finish. Particular attention goes to the transition zone between patio and lawn or planter beds so we do not blast soil onto the cleaned surface.

For paver patios where the joint sand has been pressure-washed out over time, we offer optional re-sanding with polymeric sand. Polymeric sand is a sweep-in sand that activates with water and hardens between the pavers, locking them in place, discouraging weed growth, and resisting wash-out from rain and irrigation. Re-sanding is one of the most underrated paver maintenance steps and dramatically extends the life of the install.

We can also recommend a sealer for stamped concrete and pavers. Sealers protect the surface from new stains, lock in color, give a subtle sheen if you want one, and make future cleanings dramatically easier. We do not sell sealer as an upsell on every job; we recommend it when it actually makes sense for your surface and goals.
